500km (in 5 days): Ride for BTN Community

I invite you to support my fundraising efforts for Hands Across the Water, with a particular focus on the Baan Than Namchai (BTN) Children’s Home in Khao Lak, Thailand. BTN provides a safe, nurturing and loving environment for almost 100 children who have lost their families, have family members unable to care for them, or were living in unsafe or unstable circumstances. Through consistency, care and education, BTN ensures these children are not defined by their early hardship, but instead are given every opportunity to thrive.

I have had the privilege of visiting Baan Than Namchai on a service-learning tour with groups of Year 11 students in both 2024 and 2025, and the experience left a profound and lasting impression on me. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open hearts and open arms. The genuine joy, generosity and gratitude of both the staff and the children was deeply moving. Despite all they have faced, there is a remarkable sense of warmth, optimism and belonging within the home—BTN is not simply a place of care, but a true family.

Seeing firsthand the impact that stable housing, education, healthcare and unwavering adult support can have on young lives has created in me an enduring desire to give back in whatever way I can. By supporting this fundraising effort, you will be directly contributing to a future where these beautiful children continue to feel safe, valued and empowered to pursue their dreams. I would be incredibly grateful for your support, however large or small, to ensure these young people have every opportunity.
