Volunteer opportunities exist for English language teachers to support the work of Hands Across The Water, in the Hands English Program.

The Program is delivered through a prescribed curriculum and learning materials are provided. A program coordinator maintains contact throughout the placement via online meetings, and face-to-face when possible.

As consistency and predictability are important for effective learning when delivering education to children, teaching terms are for a minimum of 6-9 months. Qualified pre-school, primary or secondary teachers are required and ESL/EFL experience &/or qualifications are preferred. 

Volunteers are required to obtain the ‘Working With Children Check’ (WWCC) and Police checks relevant to their State or Territory, as well as agree to and comply with the Hands Child Protection Policy.

2. Complete the form and attach it to an email with copies of your qualifications and your passport photo page. Email to team@handsgroup.org.au.

3. If you would like further information about the volunteer English language teaching at our homes, please download the Hands English Program Handbook.

4. One of the Hands English team will contact you within 2 weeks after you submit your application.
