The Isaan2Andaman 1000

I first began supporting Hands Across the Water in 2008.

Back then, I couldn’t have imagined how deeply this organisation and the people I've met, both at the homes and on the rides, would shape my life.

Over the past 17 years, I’ve seen what empathy, compassion and action can do. I’ve watched children who started from the hardest starts grow into confident young adults. I’ve seen the homes being built and renovated, futures shaped and restored... ultimately lives changed not by grand gestures, but by good people showing up again and again.

This ride is about continuing that commitment.

1000 miles. 3 homes. 10 days. One purpose.

December 2026, I’m attempting my hardest ride yet:
- 1,000 miles across Thailand

- 10 days on the road

- From Home Hug (Yasothon) to Pama House (Chanthaburi) to Baan Tharn Namchai (Khao Lak)

- Doing it SOLO

I’ve cycled across Thailand many times before. I know the heat. The roads. The long days.
But this ride is different.

This time:

  • I’ll be riding and navigating alone

  • Carrying everything I need on the bike

  • No support vehicle

  • Head on into the heat, fatigue, uncertainty and doubt

And that’s intentional, because the discomfort I’ll experience is temporary.

The challenges faced by the children supported by Hands are not.

Why this matters to me

Hands Across the Water isn’t just a charity I support, it’s a community I believe in.

I’ve seen the impact of their work with my own eyes:

  • Children who feel safe

  • Young people who feel valued

  • Futures that once felt impossible now full of hope

That kind of change doesn’t happen just once, it happens because people keep caring.

This ride is my way of saying: I’m still here. And I’m not done yet.

Why your support matters

Your donation isn’t about the kilometres I ride, it’s about the years of impact that will follow.

It helps provide:

  • Safe homes

  • Education

  • Stability

  • Long-term support for children who deserve a future filled with possibility

Every contribution, no matter the size, is a tangible way of standing alongside these kids and reminding them that they matter.

A personal ask

When the days get long and the road feels endless, I’ll be thinking about the children I’ve met over the years, the friends I've made, the love I've experienced and the many more of each still to come.

If you’ve ever wondered whether your donation really makes a difference, I can say this with absolute certainty:

It does. I’ve seen it. You matter.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
