Moments That Matter: Stories from Our Homes

Life across our homes is mostly made up of ordinary days…school, food, chores. We’re here to share some of the special stories. The kind of moments that create lasting memories, build new skills, grow confidence, or remind the children that people far beyond their own community care about them. 

Here are a few of those moments from the past few months.

PAMA House: A Community That Shows Up

It has been a busy few months at PAMA, with local businesses, community organisations and supporters regularly dropping in to spend time with the children.

One visit brought together Police Colonel Tharathep Toopanit and representatives from more than a dozen businesses across Chanthaburi Province. They didn't just arrive with donations. They shared lunch with the children, chatted, played games and spent time getting to know them.

Other supporters also visited throughout the month. Narai Hospitality Group donated books, toys and educational supplies, Wat Kathing provided rice and financial support for the home, and Taweecharoen 2502 Co., Ltd. delivered cartons of milk.

For the children, it's these visits that matter most. They are reminded that there is a whole community investing in their future, one conversation and one act of kindness at a time.

Baan Tharn Namchai (BTN): Learning Skills That Could Save a Life

Children and staff recently took part in Basic First Aid training delivered by registered nurses from Takua Pa Hospital, followed by Fire Prevention and Fire Safety training with the Na Nai Si Subdistrict Fire and Rescue Team.

The session covered the different types of fires, including oil and gas fires, when to use a fire blanket, and how to safely operate a fire extinguisher. For many of us, these are skills we've never had the chance to learn ourselves.

Everyone had the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice by extinguishing a live gas fire under the guidance of the rescue team. Standing in front of real flames was a little daunting for some of the children, but one by one they stepped forward, took a deep breath and gave it a go.

Watching their confidence grow was a real highlight of the day. We hope they never need to use these skills, but if they ever do, they'll know exactly what to do.

Baan Home Hug: New Experiences, New Confidence

For Kao and Nam, this month marked an exciting milestone as they joined freshman orientation activities at Thai-German Technological College in Saraburi Province.

Like many students starting somewhere new, the experience was about far more than finding classrooms. They met new friends, learned how campus life works, and began building confidence in an unfamiliar environment.
Back at Home Hug, other children rolled up their sleeves for a community reforestation project, helping plant trees to restore local forest areas. Along the way they learned about environmental conservation and the important role forests play in protecting local communities.

Whether it's starting college or planting trees, these experiences help the children develop confidence, independence and a stronger connection to the world around them.
