From Noodles to New Opportunities

When we talk about supporting charities, it's often large corporations that get the attention.

But at Hands Across the Water, we've learned that some of the most meaningful partnerships come from small and growing businesses that choose to use their success to create positive change.

Small businesses are uniquely positioned to make an impact. Their values are often closely connected to the people who lead them, the communities they serve, and the customers who support them. When they choose to give back, it feels genuine because it usually is.

One business doing this particularly well is P'Nut Asian Kitchen (formerly P’Nut Street Noodles).

This year, P'Nut celebrated Songkran, Thailand's New Year festival, by donating profits from its Thai New Year promotion to Hands Across the Water. The business has also committed to sponsoring four children, helping provide ongoing support including housing, education, food and care.

What makes this partnership special is how naturally it aligns with who P'Nut already is.

Thai culture sits at the heart of the brand. Every meal served is inspired by the flavours, traditions and communities of Thailand. Supporting children living in Thailand is a meaningful extension of that connection.

P'Nut CEO Ankur Sehgal said,

"Thai food has always been about more than just a meal. It is about family, community and connection."

Those values resonate strongly with us at Hands.

The beauty of small business is that it can connect purpose with action quickly. A simple promotion can become school supplies. A sponsorship can become educational opportunities. A business decision can help shape a brighter future for a child.

P'Nut's Songkran campaign is a wonderful example of that in action.

A celebration of culture.

A commitment to community.

And a reminder that businesses of any size can make a lasting difference.

One bowl of noodles at a time.
