Building for the Future: Catching Up with Game

If you’ve visited Baan Tharn Namchai (BTN), chances are you’ve met Game. As Director, his days centre on the children who call BTN home, supporting their education, wellbeing and daily lives.

And you can see that connection wherever he goes. There is often a small tribe of children following behind him, talking, helping and learning along the way. For Game, that relationship is personal. He grew up at BTN himself.

“Having received so much support myself, I now have the opportunity to give back and help the next generation build brighter futures.”

A Business Mindset for BTN’s Future

What also stands out about Game’s leadership is his business mindset. He is constantly looking at how BTN can create sustainable opportunities that build skills for young people while also generating income for the Home.

You can see it across the projects happening at BTN. Agriculture programs give children the opportunity to learn how to grow produce and how that produce can be sold. The BTN craft shop is focused on creating quality products with the potential for wider retail distribution. Even recycling is looked at through the lens of how it can generate cash rather than simply becoming waste.

It’s a practical approach to sustainability that sits alongside Game’s care for the children. The aim is not only to create income, but to give young people the chance to learn, try new things and develop skills they can carry into their futures.

Creating a Life of Choice

That thinking is closely connected to what a Life of Choice means to Game.

“For me, creating a "life of choice" means having the freedom and opportunity to shape my own future while helping others do the same. Growing up, many important opportunities in my life were made possible because people believed in me and invested in my future. Today, I want every child to have that same opportunity, to dream, make their own choices and build a meaningful life with confidence.”

Game is continuing to learn too. When asked what he is currently focused on, he said:

“I am currently learning more about leadership, child development, and how to create sustainable opportunities for children and young people.”

A Message for the Hands Family

This October, Game will travel to Brisbane for Night of Celebration 2026, where many of the people in the room will have been part of the BTN story through riding, fundraising, sponsorship and ongoing support.

When we asked what he would like those supporters to know, his answer brought his own journey full circle.

“I would like to thank them for believing in children like me and for giving us opportunities that have transformed our lives. Their support has provided education, safety and hope for a brighter future. Because of their generosity, I have been able to grow into the person I am today, and now I have the privilege of supporting children who are beginning their own journeys. Their kindness did not just change my life – it continues to change the lives of the children I work with every day. I hope they know that their support creates a lasting impact that reaches far beyond one generation.”

Passing Opportunity Forward

Game has gone from growing up at BTN to helping lead it into its next chapter. His focus now is on creating the same kind of opportunities for the children coming behind him, while building a stronger and more sustainable future for BTN.

“I am excited to meet new people, share my story, and continue making a positive impact in the lives of children and young people. I also hope to inspire others by showing how one opportunity can change a life, and how that impact can be passed on to future generations.”

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
“In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, travelling, listening to music and spending quality time with friends and BTN family. I also enjoy learning new skills that help me grow both personally and professionally, so I can continue supporting others in the best way I can.”

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
“I would love to have dinner with someone who has dedicated their life to creating positive change for children and communities. I would love to learn from their experiences and the values that guided their journey.”

What’s one thing on your bucket list?
“To travel the world, experience different cultures, and learn from people from all walks of life.”
