"Every KM Counts" Competition

Terms and Conditions

 

  1. Introduction

1.1. These terms and conditions apply to the "Every KM Counts" competition ("the Competition") conducted by Hands Across the Water ("the Organizer"). 

1.2. By participating in the Competition, each participant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.

 

  1. Eligibility

2.1. The Competition is open only to residents of New South Wales (NSW), Australia, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. 

2.2. Employees, directors, and officers of the Organiser, as well as their household families, are not eligible to participate.

 

  1. Competition Period

3.1. The Competition begins at 1st August 2024 and ends on 26th December 2024 ("the Competition Period").

3.2. All entries must be received by the Organiser during the Competition Period. Entries received after this time will not be considered.

 

  1. Entry Method

4.1. To enter the Competition, participants must purchase a $50 ticket via the link provided in the Competition communications.

4.2. Each ticket purchased corresponds to one kilometre (km) on Pete’s 1400km journey from Baan Home Hug to Baan Tharn Namchai.

4.3. Participants may purchase multiple tickets to increase their chances of winning.

 

  1. Prizes

5.1. There are two (2) major prizes, each consisting of a $5,000 cash prize.

5.2. The total prize pool value is $10,000.

 

  1. Winner Selection and Announcement

6.1. Two winners will be randomly drawn at the end of Peter’s run on 26th December 2024.

6.2. The winners draw will be announced live on social media.

6.3. Winners will be contacted by email and/or phone within seven (7) days of the announcement.

 

  1. Prize Conditions

7.1. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for anything other than the cash amount specified.

7.2. The $5,000 cash prize will be transferred to each winner’s nominated bank account after successful ID checks, within 14 days of the announcement.

7.3. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize is not available.

 

  1. Use of Personal Information

8.1. By entering the Competition, participants consent to the use of their personal information for the purposes of administering the Competition and for future marketing purposes by the Organiser.

8.2. Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Organiser’s privacy policy, which is available on the Organiser’s website.

 

  1. Limitation of Liability

9.1. The Organiser accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury incurred by any participant in connection with their participation in the Competition or the acceptance of any prize.

9.2. The Organiser makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability, or merchantability of any prize.

 

  1. General Conditions

10.1. The Organiser reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Competition at any time without prior notice.

10.2. Any attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, the Organiser reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10.3. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Competition will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
