I am raising money to support the children of Hands Across the Water.

Hands Across the Water [Hands] started as a charity in response to the Boxing Day Tsunami. Now supporting 350+ children living in 7 homes and projects across Thailand. 

Hands supports both children and their families and wider community. While there are some kids at the Hands homes who are there because their  parents are deceased or their family cannot care for them, many children are cared for by Hands as their parents have had to travel overseas to find work. Other families are working locally but do not have childcare for their children, so Hands is able to provide care and safety for these kids while their parents work. Hands acknowledges all children already have a family, so does not pursue adoption for children. 

Hands has created local opportunities to help communities thrive, such as creating local jobs through farming which also keeps the charity sustainable. 

Many of the children cared for by Hands go on to university or other education. 

• Hands not only provides the life-saving necessities for the kids in our homes, they also support many families in an outreach program to help keep kids out of our homes.
  

Just as important as filling their bellies with healthy food and providing a safe bed to sleep in, with the support of amazing donors like you, the vision of Hands is to help these kids see the opportunities that lie before them, to see a life of choice.
