Over the past few months, the children at PAMA House have had the opportunity to participate in a mix of exciting adventures and educational projects, making it an enriching time for them. On 3 August 2024, the staff took the children to the Balloon Music Festival at Laem Sing Beach. The day was filled with joy and wonder as the kids enjoyed the colourful balloons that dotted the sky, along with giant fancy kites, including one shaped like Nemo and other sea creatures that sparked their imaginations. The event wasn’t just about visuals; live music filled the air, creating a festive atmosphere, and the children danced along to the rhythms. As night fell, a dramatic fire show lit up the beach, leaving the kids in awe and providing them with a magical ending to an unforgettable day.
Later in the month, PAMA House hosted a volunteer camp in collaboration with the Faculty of Agro-Industrial Technology from Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok Chanthaburi Campus. Teachers and students from the university worked alongside the children, teaching them valuable skills in agriculture. The focus was on growing vegetables such as morning glory, kale, bok choy, and cabbage without chemicals. The children learned how to prepare the soil, tend to the plants, and understand the benefits of sustainable, chemical-free farming. This project not only provided hands-on learning but also supported PAMA House’s mission to reduce household costs by encouraging homegrown produce. The children took great pride in their efforts, knowing that their vegetable garden would help contribute to the home’s sustainability.
Looking ahead, the excitement continues to build at PAMA House. The children are excited for Halloween on 31 October 2024, a day filled with fun costumes, games, and treats. But what excites them the most is their upcoming involvement in the Run to Remember 2024 event. Scheduled for 15 December 2024 at Chatuchak Park in Bangkok, the children are eager to participate in this important cause, knowing it’s a chance to not only engage in a healthy and fun activity but also support the larger Hands Across the Water community. This mix of fun, education, and giving back continues to shape the experiences at PAMA House, nurturing the children’s growth in a caring and supportive environment.
