Home Hug August Update 2023

03 Aug 2023

We are thrilled to share with you the latest activities of the amazing children and youth at Home Hug. Read on below to get all the details of the recent happenings around the home.

Home Hug welcomed Teacher Paisan, a dedicated volunteer, who generously offered his expertise in mathematics and science education. He worked with a group of junior high school students enrolled in the Non-Formal Education program. Through interactive teaching methods, Teacher Paisan aimed to ignite a love for learning and empower the students with valuable knowledge and skills.

In line with their commitment to self-development and leadership, Home Hug organized group activities designed to foster leadership qualities. Held in Chiang Rai, these activities included team-building exercises, problem-solving challenges, and workshops. The participants gained valuable insights and honed their leadership abilities through these engaging activities.

During the month of February, Home Hug expanded its family by accepting four new children from the border of Chiang Rai. These underprivileged children found a loving and secure environment at Home Hug, where they would receive access to education, care, and opportunities for personal growth.

Home Hug organized a day trip to Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani Province, offering the children a memorable experience filled with laughter and joy. The children had a delightful time playing in the water, finding shells, fish, and exploring the picturesque surroundings. This outing provided them with a much-needed break from their daily routines and strengthened the bonds within the home.

Some of the older kids from Home Hug were also invited to a bicycle assembly training session at Hands Home Baan Than Namchai (BTN). Through this hands-on experience, the children learned the value of teamwork, attention to detail, and perseverance, enhancing their self-confidence and independence. This will also come in handy as part of Hands Experiences Thailand's strategy to provide future pathways for the kids of Hands.

With the support that the home receives from the Hands community, Home Hug continues to leave a lasting impact on the lives of the children and communities it serves. By combining education, leadership development, and engaging activities, a nurturing environment where these children can grow, learn, and thrive is created, which, above all, reflect the essence of Hands' mission to provide a loving home and a brighter future for all.
