Help me, help children build a better future, full of opportunities, possibilities and dreams, with Hand Across The Water

I’m the first to admit — I’m not an athlete. Blessed with average height and coordination, I’ve always been better suited to support roles when it comes to sports.

But when I learned about the incredible work that Hands Across the Water does, I knew I had to challenge myself — despite my natural lack of athletic gifts.

Hands Across the Water (Hands) was founded in response to the Boxing Day tsunami. Today, they support more than 350 children across seven homes and projects in Thailand.

The children who come to live in a Hands home are there because they have no other choice. This is often the result of one of three heartbreaking situations:
• They have no known family to care for them
• They have family, but those family members are unable to care for them
• They are living in an unsafe environment and have been placed into care by police or government authorities

Hands not only provides life-saving essentials for the children in their homes, but also supports many families through outreach programs — helping keep children out of care and in safe, stable, and loving home environments.

Just as important as filling their bellies with nutritious food and providing a safe place to sleep, Hands — with the support of generous donors like you — is committed to helping these children see the opportunities ahead of them and build a life filled with choice.
