Brendon Granger

I am raising money to support the children of Hands Across the Water because I believe that all children deserve to build a future full of possibilities, opportunities and dreams - a life of choice, not chance.

Those of you that know me, know that this is not my first ride. And this will not be my last. My involvement with Hands Across The Water [Hands]  started in 2012 when I spent time at Baan Tharn Namchai [BTN] and I met the wonderful Bell. He was 4 years old at the time, the same age as my daughter. And we fell in love. It was just a special relationship and we started sponsoring him. In 2014, when the Blueprint Ride was announced, I knew that it was something that I had to do. It was way outside my comfort zone but it felt right. And I've now done five rides and one drive (that’s another story).
Why do I do it? It's not because I like riding. In fact, bike riding scares me. In 2015 I had an accident on my bike and broke my neck. I had a plate put in, recovered in ICU and spent 3 months 24 x 7 in a brace. It changed my life. Yet I still choose to get on the bike in Thailand. I do it for the kids and it is for me. It is food for my soul. I was lucky enough to take my 16-year-old son on the ride in 2019.

When Peter Baines asked him what he thought of the ride, Josh said; “I didn’t think it would be so hard or that my Dad was so crazy that he would keep coming back and do this 5 times.”

But the truth is the ride changed his life and it changes the lives of the kids HANDS looks after. So as long as I can, I'm going to continue to do this.

And with your support; Together we can truly make a difference - Donate now!
