Money Cant Fix Feeling Abandoned

There are some things in life that money simply can't fix.

A child who feels abandoned.

A young person who has lost hope.

A family doing everything they can just to survive another day.

No investment, business deal or career achievement can replace the impact of knowing someone genuinely cares about you.

That's why, in six weeks' time, I'll be back in Thailand riding hundreds of kilometres for Hands Across the Water.

This incredible organisation supports children and communities who have faced circumstances most of us can barely imagine, helping create opportunities, education, support and hope where it is needed most.

The truth is, this year's ride means more to me than last year.

Like many people, I've experienced moments over the past few years that have reminded me how fragile life can be.

I've watched people I care about battle mental health challenges.

I've seen families carrying burdens they never expected.

I've learned that sometimes the greatest gift we can give another human being isn't advice, money or solutions.

It's simply showing up.

And that's what this ride represents for me.

Not a sporting event.

Not a holiday.

Not a personal challenge.

A commitment to showing up for children who deserve a better future.

I've personally funded my own flights, accommodation, bike hire and travel expenses because I wanted every dollar raised to go directly to the charity and the children it supports.

So today I'm asking for your help.

If we've ever shared a coffee, done business together, crossed paths at an event, been friends, colleagues or simply connected online, I'd be incredibly grateful if you'd consider making a contribution.

Whether it's $20, $50, $100 or more, every dollar genuinely makes a difference.

Because when enough people decide to care, extraordinary things can happen.

And six weeks from now, while I'm riding through the heat, the hills and the inevitable discomfort, I'll be thinking about the children whose lives your generosity helps change.

Hands Across the Water [Hands] started as a charity in response to the Boxing Day Tsunami. Now we support 350+ children living in 7 homes and projects across Thailand.

The kids who come to live in a Hands home are there because they have no choice. This is often the result of one of three heartbreaking situations:

  • They have no known family to care for them
  • They have a family member who is known to them, but is unable to care for them
  • They are living in an unsafe environment and have been placed in our care by the police or government

Hands not only provides the life-saving necessities for the kids in our homes, they also support many families in an outreach program to help keep kids out of our homes.

Just as important as filling their bellies with healthy food and providing a safe bed to sleep in, with the support of amazing donors like you, the vision of Hands is to help these kids see the opportunities that lie before them, to see a life of choice.

My hope is that you will make the choice to join me in this experience and help me reach my personal fundraising goal. Please make a donation today to support these children and provide them with a better future.

Together we can truly make a difference - Donate now!
