I am riding 800km in 8 days in Thailand, raising money to support the children of Hands Across the Water. I wholeheartedly believe that all children deserve a life of choice, not chance.

My dear friends Peter and Claire Baines founded Hands Across the Water [Hands] to bring hope and support to children in need. What began as a heartfelt response to the Boxing Day Tsunami has grown into an extraordinary charity, now caring for over 350 children across seven homes and projects in Thailand.

The children who find refuge in a Hands home arrive because they have no other choice. Their stories are heartbreaking:

• Some have no known family to care for them.
• Others have family members who, despite their love, cannot provide the care they need.
• Many come from unsafe environments, placed into Hands’ care by police or government authorities.

Granted we’ve all faced challenges in life, but nothing compares to the struggles these children endure. Hands provides more than just life-saving necessities like food, shelter, and safety. Through outreach programs, they work to keep children with their families whenever possible. And with the help of generous donors (like you), they empower these children to see a life full of opportunity—a life where they have choices.

I’m taking on this bike ride (800km in 8 days) in Thailand, to support Hands’ incredible work. While I may not be physically prepared, my heart is all in!
