Melissa Edyvean

I am joining the Hands team for a second year, to support the great work they do to give the children in their care a better shot at building a future full of possibilities, opportunities and dreams - a life of choice, not chance.

I'm joining in again - this time as a helping-hand in one of the Hands orphanages - and so much looking forward to it.

Hands Across the Water started up to help the children left homeless and orphaned by the Boxing Day Tsunami.

Today they support 350+ children living in 7 homes and projects across Thailand.

The kids who come to live in a Hands home are usually there for one of three heartbreaking reasons:

  • They have no known family members to care for them
  • They have a family member who is known to them but can't care for them
  • They are living in an unsafe environment and have been placed in Hands' care by the police or government

Hands not only provides the life-saving necessities for these kids, but also supports many families in an outreach program to help keep kids out of the homes.

While filling their tummies with healthy food and providing somewhere safe to sleep is important, the vision of Hands, with the support amazing donors like you, is to help these kids see the opportunities that lie before them, to see a life of choice.

I hope you'll make the choice to join me in this experience and help me reach my personal fundraising goal. Please make a donation today to support these children and provide them with a better future.

Together we can truly make a difference - Donate now!
