Mal McClelland

I am again planning to do a fund-raising bike ride in Thailand. This ride was supposed to take place in January 2022 but as a result of a little known disease called Covid the ride has been deferred until January 2023.  I am counting down the days until I can do this again -  albeit my body is saying perhaps I should get into shape first.

Many of you have supported me previously by donating and/or attending fund-raising functions. For that I am eternally grateful as every cent you give goes towards supporting the 350+ children living in 7 homes and projects across Thailand that Hands Across the Water (HATW) supports.

For those that don’t know, HATW started out addressing the needs of kids who didn't have homes or access to food, clothing and medicine after the 2004 Tsunami. As the kids have grown and matured, the focus has shifted to education and future employment opportunities. Today, access to new and exciting opportunities for the kids is just as important as a loving home and a belly full of healthy food.

I first became involved in 2015 and have undertaken multiple in-country rides as well as giving time to help renovate some of the homes that HATW manages.

I have established a target of $25,000.  While the target is high you can be assured that 100% of your donation will go into providing a life a choice for disadvantaged kids. A number of the older children are now giving back through their support to the new kids/babies that HATW is looking after.

Your donation will help provide a high standard of care, a chance at a better education and a future that they never envisioned. You are welcome to contact me should you wish to discuss any aspect of the work that is being undertaken.
