About International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8th across the world. IWD is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and future. International Women’s Day is all about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action.
At Hands, International Women’s Day is more than just a day to celebrate the achievements of women. Because we work with disadvantaged children and young adults full stop, we believe and recognise the importance of equity across all areas of our work, both here in Australia and in Thailand.
International Women’s Day is an opportunity for us to share our passion and the excitement that comes from valuing and supporting differences.
Because we know that each child and young adult in our care is unique.
Each one is different.
And each one deserves an equal world.
Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge this equality. Collectively we can all #EmbraceEquity.
