We decided we couldn’t wait until January 2022 to get back out there riding with our wonderful community so we’re launching a one-off recovery ride to raise much needed funds for our kids and provide you with the first opportunity to get back on a bike in Thailand.

This scenic coastal ride through the Gulf of Thailand will be a 5-day taster of our brand new 8-day ride that was scheduled to take place in January 2021. You’ll cycle 500km in 5 days with a rest day in the middle and get to experience a side of Thailand you might never have ventured but for this experience.

Every year the money raised from our annual Ride to Provide experiences provides critical funding to the operations of the seven homes Hands supports across Thailand, housing over 350 kids. In 2020, 70% of that fundraising was wiped out due to Covid-19, therefore this ride will mark the first ride back on our calendar after 17 months of no activity.

The monies entrusted to Hands are used to bring about change and provide the lifesaving necessities for the kids in our homes and importantly it supports many families in an outreach program keeping kids out of our homes.  Our commitment to our kids and these communities is long term and as the Thailand economy recovers from the destruction of the pandemic, our support has never been more important.

About the ride

You’ll start your journey from just outside Bangkok and cycle to Bang Saen, before making your way down to the countryside of Pattaya. You will enjoy a day off on beautiful Mae Ram Peung Beach and jump back on the bike and travel along some amazing locations through Laem Sing Beach. As you ride to meet the children at PAMA House on the 5th and final day of riding you’ll experience first hand the immense appreciation for everything that you’ve done. The fundraising, the training, the 500km on the bike, we promise it will be worth it!

We will organise your accommodation in Bangkok at Novotel 20 Sukhumvit. If are arriving earlier, we can help book additional accommodation on your behalf.

We always recommend to go a size up as you are unable to make changes when you receive your kit.

Travel Bag and Team Shirt

You will receive a Hands Across the Water travel bag for the trip. There is plenty of room in the bag for the tour and additional clothing you might want to bring for holidays pre or post the ride. If you would like to purchase some luggage inserts to keep your clothes organised you can do so here. You will also receive a Ride to Provide t-shirt to wear during the trip and training shirt pre-ride.

Once you have registered and paid your $500 deposit, you will receive a link to your personal fundraising page. You can update this page with your story and share your unique link to start raising funds. The team at Hands are here to support you with ideas so don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Training Program

You will receive a training program that will help prep you for your 500km journey. The key to your training will be time in the saddle as opposed to km’s ridden so even if the weather turns poor, you can get to the local gym or spin class to clock up your hours on the bike. We also have a great series of videos if you are new to cycling or looking for some additional training tips.

Dedicated ride coordinator

We have a team of people to help you through your journey but importantly there is a dedicated ride coordinator who is there to answer any questions about the ride and arrange any additional activities you might need to organise for your experience. We’re here to help so just ask!

Ride Communications

We’ll send you a rider information pack upon registration to get you on your way. You will also receive regular rider newsletters and invitations to a closed Facebook group where you will be able to support other riders and ask questions in a safe community.
