In 2020 all of our Thailand experiences came to a grinding halt and we’re preparing to come back fighting in 2022 as borders re open and the road to recovery begins. With 70% of our fundraising wiped as a result of the pandemic, we have a lot of ground to cover and we’d love your help. Whether you’re new to Hands or come back each year, Renovation Taskforce is an opportunity to dust off your tool belt, refine your painting skills, and share an experience with a crew of hard working good humans. In 2022 we will be head back to PAMA House in Chantaburi to undertake renovations. This will coincide with the end of our Ride to Recover so if you’ve always wanted to do one of our rides this might be your opportunity to join both experiences. You don’t need a specific skill set other than a love of hard work and a go get em attitude. There are only 2 spots available on the Renovation Taskforce team, so if you are considering joining us in 2022, don’t hesitate. Our previous Taskforce projects include: Project Home Hug Surin House, November 2019 Our team went up to Home Hug Surin this year to build a new kitchen and pathway for the home. For a long time, the staff have been operating their kitchen out of a small room so this has provided them with a nice big space to cook as well as a dining area for the kids to eat. In addition a number of much needed repairs to the sleeping quarters were completed. Project PAMA House, November 2018 Our team of 25 returned to Pama House this year where projects included building a new carport, an extension of the kids’ playground, and the installation of a volleyball court (which involved the clearing of a large area). The Kids are loving their new space to play and grow. Project PAMA House, October 2017 This year was a pretty special year of transformation. Projects included an outdoor gym and climbing area along with a never ending driveway that will service a new building to be constructed. This is quite possibly the only climbing wall in the province. Project Yasothon, November 2016 Our taskforce group repainted the exterior of the library, girls and boys dorms. They also focused on general repairs of the roof, water tank, plumbing and installed kitchen sink in the volunteers room.
